What is the purpose of enabling or disabling password use?

When choosing to disable password access of Maptician for an occupant, this occupant will NOT be able to sign into Maptician using its built-in password-base login feature, but is able to access it using SSO (if enabled).

How to enable/disable password use for an occupant

Enabling and disabling passwords for individual Occupants forces their login access to Maptician through a username and password or through Single Sign-On. This is primarily intended for organizations that utilize SSO for most internal users, but also want to include external individuals (such as contractors) who may not have access to SSO. In that case, password access could be disabled for employees (more secure) and enabled for contractors or other non-employees.

How to enable/disable password use for an occupant

  1. Navigate to the Occupants Tab.
  2. Select the Occupant for which you desire to disable/enable password use. The box on the far-left column will turn blue when selected.
  3. Select the Occupant Management button at the top of the page.
  4. Select Enable Password Use/Disable Password Use.

The red "X" (disabled) or green check mark (enabled) in the Password Enabled column indicates the password status for that occupant.
