Before you Start
Before starting, you will need the following information from your Brivo system:
- Brivo API Key: This is provided by Brivo
- Brivo Cient ID and Client Secret: These can be obtained through the application registration process in the Brivo Access portal (access.brivo.com)

- Brivo “Super Admin” account: A Brivo “Super Admin” account is needed in order to access Brivo location and employee data and subscribe to webhook events. We recommended that you use a service account for integrating Maptician and Brivo rather than a personal account, as a service account will keep the integration functioning correctly through employee moves and turnover.

Getting Started
Step 1: Configure Brivo in Maptician
In Maptician, go to the Brivo Integration configuration panel (Settings > Presence > Brivo Integration) and enter the required Brivo data in the Brivo Access Control Connectivity panel.
- Note: The Brivo User Name and Brivo Password need to be from the Brivo "Super Admin" account

Step 2: Enter your Brivo Site Names
In Maptician, go to the Brivo Access Control settings panel located in Locations (Locations > Manage Locations > Select Location > Settings > Brivo Settings)
-
Enter the Brivo Site Name exactly as it is shown in your Brivo Access portal.
- Brivo site names can be found in the Brivo Access portal under Occupancy Management > Configured Sites
- Once the Brivo Site Name is entered, click the green “Save Changes” button. If the connection between Maptician and Brivo is working (that you configured in Step 1), the Site ID and Webhook Subscription ID fields will automatically populate. If they do not, please contact support@maptician.com for assistance.

Step 3: Brivo and Maptician User Accounts (User ID) Sync
- Once steps 1 & 2 are successfully completed, an initial user ID sync between Brivo and Maptician needs to occur. This sync occurs daily at 4:40 AM Eastern Time
- Important Note: Brivo user accounts must have an email address that matches their Maptician email address in order for Presence to work
Step 4: Verify Brivo Presence Entries in Maptician
- Once the sync has completed (Step 3), you can confirm if there are presence logs for Brivo badge events by checking the Presence Logs of Maptician users. The Presence logs for users can be found under Occupants > Presence. Under the “Presence History” column, click on “Records” and the window shown below will open. If the Source shows “Brivo Integration”, that is confirmation that the integration is now working.
