Adding Map Links to a Map Navigating Between Maps via Map Links

You can use map links to connect Doors, Stairs, and Elevators effortlessly. This feature lets users quickly navigate between floors when viewing a map by selecting the POI and choosing the desired floor you want to navigate to within the same location.

Adding Map Links to a Map

Below are the steps to add Map Links to your maps using the Map Editor, assuming that your map currently doesn't have any Map Link POIs.

  1. Navigate to the Map Editor on the left side navigation menu.
  2. Select the Load Map button and choose the map you want to load.
  3. Once the map is loaded, go to the Object section, click the Data tab, and find the Map Links section.
    1. This is where you select the POI you want to create a map link for.
  1. Click and drag the POI onto the map where it’s located.
  2. Once the POI is on the map, highlight it, then under the Info tab, click the Set MapLink button.
  1. This will open a popup where you can begin linking similar POIs located in the same location, assuming you've added others.
    1. It's recommended to name multiple Map Links appropriately on the same map to easily identify which POI you’re mapping to.
  1.  To connect multiple Map Links at the same time, you can click each row to highlight them, then click the Connect button at the bottom of the popup.
    1. You will know they are linked when a green dot appears under the Linked To column.
  1. Alternatively, you can select Map Links individually by clicking the dot in the Linked To column.

Using Door Map Links, you can only link one door to another single door. However, Stairs and Elevators can connect to multiple POIs within the same location.

Navigating Between Maps via Map Links

Once your Map Links are correctly configured, you can view a map and click on the POI where a navigation menu will appear on the right side of the screen. From there, you can select the linked POI on another map and quickly navigate to that floor as shown below:

Please note that for Map Links to appear as navigation options when viewing a map, the POIs must be set as “Linked To” the other Map Links. They will not appear if they are only set as “Linked From”.
